Overall "Parks and Rec" may start off slow but it finishes strong, once the show assembles the perfect cast I’ve been bragging about for the past 3 pages; you’ll see why it was worth the wait and the watch.
To say the “Despicable Me” franchise was a hit would be a gross understatement. Ever since this series about a goofy supervillain adopting 3 orphans launched, you can’t walk 2 feet into any supermarket or toy store without at least seeing ONE annoying, high pitched giggling yellow little man wearing blue overalls and goggles.
Overall, “Guardians” is a strangely assorted mix of nuts, aliens, trees, raccoons and classic songs that feel brand new when lined up with Chris Pratt dancing across an alien planet’s chasm while singing into a space lizard. It works when no one thought it did and it works in ways no one could have expected.
Disney has been going through a powerful surge of excellence with its latest computer animated movies. “Zootopia,” “Big Hero 6,” “Frozen”, “Wreck-it Ralph”, all of these were commercially and critically praised films and not one of them had anything to do with Pixar.
Superheroes may come off as a flavor that is rapidly saturating many reviewers and celebrities, but clearly Marvel’s champion train isn’t slowing down anytime soon, and with more diverse options brewing in the distance like “Black Panther” and “Captain Marvel”; it’s clear this is a flavor that is going to stick around and leave many aftertastes for many years and movies to come.
